Awww Oliver is adorable! You can tell by his eyes that he’s a gentle soul. My Mom has a kitty that looks even more like your Oliver I used to have a scarf kitty too! It was hot Miyuki is a “get under your feet follower to every room you are in but don’t pet me much” kitty Which isn’t so bad with an active family.

Elsafish is a Swedish Hedemora so she has dark skin and dark legs. I think it’s super striking Most lavender birds SOP requires slate/dark legs and toes and darker features (beak, eyes, toes) like a black chicken would have—since they’re a black chicken in every way but feathers. Most have white/pink skin though…unless they have been specially crossed or are naturally black skinned like svart honas, hedemoras, or silkies From what I understand anyway!

Fluff will be moving back out with the flock tonight at bedtime and Honey is moving in :-( She is molting hard and I think between that and the heat and her struggle to see…she has not been eating much and feels super thin. I gave her a place indoors to rest, some vitamins, and fresh water and food and she immediately started eating. Hoping some rest inside will help, but I fear her eyesight is declining more Poor sweet girl

Oliver's the only cat I've ever had that's like that...he lives for lovings. We have a little feral kitty we raised from one day old that wants to be held while your standing to be petted, but she has a life beyond that! I think Oliver would make that his whole life if he could.

I'll have to go look at lavender Orpington pics some more to see if they're like that. I saw pictures of pearl Orpingtons that were so beautiful. Hoping I can find some. Just a couple girls would be perfect. Granny's a buff Orpington. Huge and wonderful.

@FBMcrazy8 your pen looks wonderful! I feel for you on the hormonal babies. It's part of why I don't handle the chicks much...I think the roosters that get handled a lot as chicks are prone to turning mean when the hormones kick in. By waiting to make friends with them after the hormones are raging, I never had to butcher a roo gone bad that I adored. Though we've had and have some amazing roosters that got loved to death as babies! But when it went bad...it was just hard.

@kurby22 I am so crazy about your polish! I hope you get to keep them. Joe/Josephine sounds like such a darling too . I hate thinning...but I'm crazy . It's so easy to get attached though. Give your lovely daughter a big hug! I always felt bad for my kids so they each ended up with their own little flock to manage. My oldest is almost 30 now (she moved home to help out while I was sick) and she says to do whatever I want with her birds...but she also built a little bitty coop in her garden for them and visits them daily. She still likes to hug Manchego and watch his eyes go all sleepy...lol. I'm positive she's saying what she thinks she should as an adult rather then what she hopes for. So they're here forever.

Thank you! And yeah, with their being 18 of them none really got handled much. At least not as much as I would have liked. But we couldn’t tell the one rooster from the rest. He for sure did not stand out in behavior or anything. Not until his comb came in and his feathers on his tail started showing.

So yesterday my daughter had her cheerleading practice. I was a little nervous cause I wasn’t sure where to go (they have construction going on in the high school) and since I didn’t go to this high school, I didn’t have ANY idea where anything was. But we got it figured out and she did great!! She was the only new one to show up and the coach started asking for her sizes. I was confused but was also thinking that it could be that they wanted the info so if she made it that they didn’t have to do any more.

Well THEN they were talking about a parade Thursday. And it dawned on me that she wouldn’t be having try outs, she IS IN! They couldn’t do the try outs because of the parade being right after practice, which is when her try outs were supposed to be.

So know I have a football cheerleader! I couldn’t be happier. I wish she could have done try outs to show them what she had but at the same time she did practice and picked up on just about everything! I just need to work with her more at home, especially because she has a game this Friday!

It went fine for quite a while and I actually got to do some work before the chickens got curious about what I was doing. When the chickens started to walk on my keyboard I lost focus and had to snuggle with them instead
