Hello! This is a place to post pictures/talk about what you and your flock have done today.
I was on a zoom call earlier and Iris, my rooster, decided to stand behind me and crow repeatedly. Thankfully I was on mute, but it was still annoying. They couldn’t see him, but they could see me trying to make him quiet, which was a little embarrassing.
Here’s a pic of my boy with some mini roses.

What about you guys? Have you done anything interesting with your flock today?
Here are a few pictures of my birds.

Bringing Gremlin home was. He's about to leave to visit his kids though so he's ok, and I haven't ruled out letting him keep her. But I haven't told him that I might let him keep her either yet. I'm going to give myself a month to decide. Him and his daughter always visit the day after Thanksgiving and if I haven't found a good dog to tempt him with, I'll probably end up letting him permanently borrow my baby girl.@ChicksnMore I am so sorry to hear that little Billy is still having troubles. Poor Billy, poor you allYes, you are all in my good God thoughts ♡♡♡ praying for good news ❤❤❤
A little bitter sweet having your baby back? I hope your pal was ready to release his new friend and companion as much as you were ready to have her back.
I really enjoy alone time too. Maybe just because I don't get a lot of it? But some alone time feels more like a need. A small need though!Today I go to Lihue town to pick up my DH. I really enjoyed my alone time- I'm just built that way- but look forward to hanging with my pal.
Bonus is I will get to also spend more time with my flock once I am not so buried in chores. Yippee! I will definitely miss my clean home though.
Of course when I came home from the pasture last eve feathers were everywhere... Forest brought in one of his dove kills. So, there was that... and then I bathed Elliott and he stayed in last night. So def gotta do some floor touch up this morning. But all in all, finally dust free and smelling good. It was good while it lasted. Now to focus on chickens and bags.
Finally got my syringe & needle in the mail. It is time to drain Share. I have her in chicken hospital. Going to give her a bath and will start antibiotics this morning b4 I go. Looking forward to dedicating some time to her and hopefully making her more comfortable.
Have a good day all. Be good and safe!
Aw .. I'm so sorry you have chicks strugglingMe too....the runt of the hatch is the one pecking feet....and is not ever got a full crop. So idk what to do.
Such adorable fluffies! Can't wait to see them grown up...that pic of momma is a real cutieAnd baby #18 (second to hatch) is out and looks good!![]()
Sorry about your uncleI didn’t get much done today. My uncle passed away a couple days ago and we had his funeral today. He has always been one of my favorite uncles. He lived an amazing life though. My favorite aunt, his wife, isn’t doing good either. And since he has gone, I suspect it won’t be long before she passes away. It is an eye opener how many are left in my family when we no longer fill a funeral home. We weren’t even close. But most of my family is old…like my Uncle should really be a great uncle to me. My family dynamics is kinda crazy…really though just shows you how much times have changed.
And while I’m gone the coop door shut, so they chickens couldn’t get in to lay eggs. I thought I had that door fixed yesterday but nope…not even close. So it kinda worked out because my BSL laid an egg and nobody pecked it open. But as soon as I opened the door when I got home, Marble hopped right in to lay. There was a couple girls and the rooster that followed her in. The laying Brown leghorn, Lilo started doing the egg song for her![]()
. She is the only one to do it.
Good looking birds! What breed is your roo?I spent a couple hours in the coop just trying to Nancy Drew my flock and making sure the boys are staying mellow.
The three in the pics are all barnyard mixes. I also have 6 Cemani cockerels. I can’t give them away and I hate to cullBringing Gremlin home was. I think I'll have a list of senior citizen groups for him too. Trying hard to come up with as many social activities as I can.

Have you tried moist chick starter? I find the chicks eat moist better then dry. I use a peanut butter jar lid and give small amounts with frequent refills. And dry starter is always there and available too. I also like to sprinkle brewer's yeast on the top for poor feeders. And keffer or Activa yogurt...I prefer keffer cause it's lactose free. Anyways, just tossing ideas at you in case anything can help...it sounds like your taking good care of the little ones.

Oh gosh. I am so incredibly sorry. I too hope you get some solutions with your results.Billy got his heart test yesterday and we should get the results sometime today. Yesterday was rough with 4 seizures. He had one overnight and another this morning too, but on the good side 3 of those were mild. The other 3 were horriblely hard and severe. But he's bright eyed in between and he's getting all the treats and love we can give him.

Fingers crossed that this round of tests brings an answer and something we can do.
