Ours seems to be a mixture but we normally get either Northern or Northwest winds. But since we weren’t really here last winter I’m not even 100%. I might go ahead and put some on the south side too. Clear shower curtains is a great idea!

Yeah I used a grommet kit to help secure it so it wouldn't be as apt to rip once attached to a 1x2 or 2x2.
Just need to finish attaching it. Got the grommets in one! Progress?!?

Sounds like progress to me! I wouldn’t be able to use that…at least not with the chicken coop because we used steel posts and fencing. I’m zip tying traps to the sides. So far the first one is holding up, even with the 50 mph winds…crossing my fingers

Thank you!!! They weren’t too sure about it at first and seriously waited until the solar lights kicked on before they went into the chicken house. Which normally they are locked up before the lights even come on.

Thank you! Me too. I know both of BB's parents, but PB is another rescue, so I have no idea what her genetics are like. I really want to hatch their eggs, but I just (almost) finished pairing everyone up and I don't want to do it again for a while. Maybe in a few years, lol.

Pigeons are so prolific! Do you have a plan for all the eggs? I wonder if pigeon eggs could be used like quail eggs?

Tuesday I have a gal coming to pick up 3 pasture cockerels. That is big and I am happy as she seems like a pretty cool chicken gal. So, today I gotta go down and trap me some pasture cockerels. They sould be easy as they are mostly very friendly.

Got the bags finished and my sign logo painting almost completed. Will have them pau and ready to install by this afternoon. So, another stand down and delivered by... Wednesday? View attachment 3315801

These are my 2 Splash Ameraucanas girls. Of course you all have seen my cockerel. And maybe these 2 as well but anyway I love showing them off. My family thinks I’m silly for the things that I do and how much I talk about them…

I just love the coloring of each one but I have to say the 2nd/3rd one is my favorite looking.

I want some...lol. Not all of their birds are available for pre-order yet, but Cackle Is accepting orders for quite a few. Lavender Orpington and Splash Ameraucanas are both available I have to finish all my current chicken to do list before I can even consider it though

I don’t, they’re all just collecting on my counter. I’ve blown a few of them out for fake eggs, but I need to do more now that I have a few extra layers.
Yeah, I’m sure they could. I never like eating quail eggs back when I had them, but the size made them pretty good for egg washes.
Although unlike chicken/duck/quail/etc. eggs, pigeons only lay after mating so I feel a little weird eating them. I know it’s pretty much the same as all the others, but I just haven’t gotten used to it yet.

I hear ya on that. I at least give my husband a break from building coops…probably a nice thing I can do. I just want the Brahmas in their own thing. I checked Cackle at the beginning of November and they weren’t yet….all the ones I want though are pre order available now. That’s where I have gotten all mine so far. I like that it is only about 4 hours away from me.

I believe so. I know that I was able to find the site to order when we discussed them but of course finding it now is hard.
