Thank you! I’m not out of the woods yet but I’m breathing a little easier with them being made to stay in the coop. I at least know they are moving around and don’t have the wind directly hitting them because they are silly and want to stay in the wind. I have at least an egg today so at least one isn’t stressed out…maybe .

I just got back inside
Thank God they seemed ok but snow is all inside the coop covering the bedding. Like yours it won't melt anytime soon but I wonder if that's why it is so cold inside their coop!? But even under ordinary conditions the coop tends to be the same temp as it is outside. Just has a lower humidity than the outside weather.
I was out there 40 mins....half way through my toes and fingers went numb...nose and cheeks are all that otherwise feel awful.
Hard to breathe out there it's so cold!
Cathy (d'uccle) is the only one that came out of the coop. Then she quickly went back inside!
The lil babies were standing in front of the heater stand and the lil cochins were on top of it roosting.
Poor Bambi had snow.all over the tips of her feathers on her head.
I gave hot egg casserole with their feed and I rigged up a smaller waterer with poultry cell on the porch of the coop at the door I'm hopes they will come grab a drink!
There was no chatter from em at all and even the boys aren't crowing now.
Lord help everyone and everything pull through this nastiness!
Power is going out in areas all over Nashville. We still have it here...

I hope it all works out and everyone comes through this in one piece Its unbelievable weather! We went from minus figures last week to me being able to work outside in a t-shirt today.

One of our ducks is turning out so tiny. We named her Popcorn because ducks tend to act like popcorn . She's super cuddly and will actually bury her face in your hand and nuzzle you. She has a huge unCall like beak though! None of mine have the teeny little beaks that cause Calls so much problems (ours are definitely pet, not show quality)...but no others have a HUGE beak like hers either! I think she's absolutely perfect though. She wasn't handled much as a baby...hatch day cuddles, then the typical tapping at food and water to call the babies to it etc. But boy she wants and demands attention...lol.

Well I got my coffee maker fixed…thank goodness!! I could not do another day without it! But it just got too cold and didn’t want to function. Temps went up to -1 and the windchill is at -25 and the wind dropped to 25mph. Sounds SOO terrible…but honestly what it has been, it is SOO MUCH better!

Oh and my pipes to my kitchen froze so we had to shut the water off to it so it didn’t get worse and bust. Thought it very well might anyway. And the propane delivery is supposed to be today…haven’t seen them yet even though it’s 2pm here. Can’t bake cookies with the kids anyway cause I can’t wash the dishes. I was really wanting to decorate with them. It is something I really enjoy doing. And my older 3 go to their bio dads tomorrow so Christmas will probably have to wait until they get home.

@Shetland lover I did not know anyone had snow leopards for viewing, like in a zoo... they are BEAUTIFUL! What a thing to see, nice job to your dh on the b-day adventure ♡ Thank you for sharing your photo as I was amazed too!

I know the parents of the two we saw are in a wildlife park run by Edinburgh Zoo. The two we went to see are sisters. One of the sisters has a genetic defect so can't be bred from. Hopefully the other sister will be able to be part of a breeding programme though.

@FBMcrazy8 and @Gammas Bearded Babies I am in awe of your fortitude to keep all your outside babies safe and warm Sounds as stressful as my summers with 110+ weather! Constant checking, constant worry, only so many things you can feed and water them…blah! I LOVE my cold weather but that’s just WAY too cold! :-( I hope today is better!!

@Shetland lover I too LOVE snow leopards and go to our zoo specifically to see them! The family gets annoyed because I spend forever watching them and they get bored Soo pretty.

I managed to find my holiday spirit enough to wrap a bunch yesterday and sort of decorate the tree. I usually do three times the amount of decorations, but waited too long to make it worth it! Today is a cookie exchange and then football

I prefer the cold where it is above freezing . Your tree is just beautiful!!! You for sure have far more decoration going on than I do

Such a cutie! I love her big beak! It's not out of proportion, just perfectly imperfect. Wonderful!
