What did you do with your flock today?

Well come on here to share my big news but nothing can compare to a baby (@Gammas Bearded Babies)!!!!😍

One of my hens hatched 4 eggs so far. We are waiting on 2 more eggs. One I’m not so sure about.

Sorry I have been so absent. Things are just crazy right now. But I walk outside and I have this beautiful tree that just makes my day. I wish the flowers would stay all summer…

Oh I can only imagine!! I’ve had major surgery on my knee and some really bad sprained ankles that kept me laid up—but man, being without my right arm would just suck!! I would be sooo whiny 😆

I’m doing alright! Enjoying my new bunch of chicks for my show chickens. Hatched them for the Easter HAL—so fun to have fluffy butts for Easter! 😍 Next round of eggs starts Friday for selling at the Expo!

These babies 😍😍 make all the crap worth it ❤️
Oh! They are beautiful! The little one marked '4' looks like an angry penguin, far too cute! And that dear little Satin😍

Eventful couple of days. Had a plumber scheduled for yesterday to unclog bathtub drain pipe and change out a leaky valve outside, the one that feeds the garden pipe that cracked during the cold spell, since the watercould not be shut off completely. They could not get here, so rescheduled for today. I was called this morning to help a friend with her grief after tragically losing her adult son on Easter. Meanwhile we have the plumber and the septic pumper coming. Hubby is at work this morning. Thankfully, both came after he came home from work, everything was completed. Also had a 55 degree sunny afternoon. Mason bees were flying. Peas and beets are up. 22 eggs from 2 days. Septic guy got a dozen eggs as tip.
Speaking of toilet paper, I hardly use it anymore, no paper panic. So funny when the roll runs out and the emergency holler is heard from DH or one of the boys. I used to be the one to keep it stocked in the bathroom, but haven't really paid much attention to that detail since getting a warm water bidet. Best.investment.ever. especially with one hand laid up. Always a nice, clean feeling. Wish I had one before the pause. Save the trees, get a bidet.
Chicks and garden centers are my weakness when I go shopping. Anyone else? Happy Spring!
Garden centres... can't go past one without stopping and buying something....

My thumb will be immobilized for about 4 more weeks. Minimal to no pain, only when nerves decide to wake up in the trauma areas. I can use the 4 fingers somewhat, but cannot put any pressure on my hand or forearm much. Try to do what I can. It's good to be able to pull up my own britches.😁
I hear you with that one! Now, if I could only fasten my own bra...

Had exactly the same result last summer. Mama gave up on the last 2. There were chicks inside the eggs, but dead when I checked them. Ended up with 2 boys, 2 girls. Maybe they'll still hatch for you.

Tulip trees are just gorgeous. I also love the smell of the big magnolias.

We headed up Koke'e to dismantle the trailer coop. This means I get to build another coop! Hehehehe, what to do, what to do?! This new one is going to have a good sized roof if it can and I am sure it can ;)View attachment 3465624
The hydrangeas I started 1.5 years ago are looking good. Slow starter but they have mostly been on their ownView attachment 3465625everything is popping up and blooming. Smells lovely up there. Will be heading up a lot this week as I have maintenance work to do.

Got the bug zappers in the mail. Set one up in main coop. It sounds like a 4th of July firework extravaganza. I can smell their little carcass burning.
The dyna I moved over to the roo coop area thinking it maybe catching mostly moths and such. I opened to check the basket and was pleasantly surprised to see a big pile of dead mosquitos in the middle, then promptly dropped the catch 😖 View attachment 3465628View attachment 3465629
That is a lot of squitos. Took down all the tapes as they were filled already. Look much like the pile on the ground just full. Mosquitos are back out in force tonight. Lit a bunch of natural mosquito incense and may order 2 more zappers, depending what the trap looks like tomorrow. Insane 🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟
Someone has to come up with a saleable product using all these carcasses. If you had a dime (inflation from nickel, ) for every mosquito you caught, you'd be rich.$$$$$
