What did you do with your flock today?

Meet Victoria. Depending on the fullness of her crop she weighs in at 18lbs. I think she has stopped growing. She lays some big, big eggs. Some they don't even make cartons that big.

I looked at your picture and I swear I heard Victoria say "Holy deep litter Bat Man!"

That sounds just awful…and a non-working AC?!? 🫠🤢 It would be so lovely to live closer to you…if not for your weather 😆😆
Hubby signed us up for some plan called the polar bear club...so glad because it guarantees they come out the same day you call them. They made it out about 6ish and set us right up. Turned out it was something small and quick to fix. ❤️
Ya... I'll always want greener pastures but I'm actually adjusting to the heat finally. About time right?🤣

I do not have a cluster of BEAUTIFUL lilies or charm of the English ♡♡♡ but I thought my front chicken proof garden has been looking terrific this last week so I will share... before it gets too over heated and stressed out.View attachment 3556653
My fish containers are a joyView attachment 3556660
And the one lily the deer did not munch on up Koke'e had another bloom. She ate all of the white agapanthus buds though lol.View attachment 3556659
Eye candy for sure 😍 I'm loving your flat stones surrounded by grass too!

I know that new threads get lost in this forum because things move so fast, so here's a link to a thread I started about a noxious weed I found today that's a potential danger to chickens. Tansy ragwort, bad stuff.

Big girl !!! Have you thought about using duck egg cartons? They fit super jumbo eggs that a couple of my girls lay, and won't fit in a regular carton.

I opened up the pop door to the summer run so the hens can get some shade.
2 orpingtons left the nest box singing the egg song. That spooked the other hens (for some reason) and there was a lot of caterwauling going on. Had the young ducks running around quacking not knowing what was going on. I had to go through multiple spider webs to check the area out to be sure it wasn't a predator.
Chickens are crazy. That's all.
Clara caused a commotion first thing by deciding she didn't like the noise of the waterer being emptied! She's only heard it a billion times before...🤣
