What did you do with your flock today?

Hey gang, went up to the cabin last eve to bait a dog trap. Stayed the night and when I tried to leave...View attachment 3863115
It almost got ugly. Lucky me had scratch and dog kibble to fend her off with. But it was close.
So good to hear from you!!! Spring must be busy in your neck of the woods. Well, tropics. Busy everywhere I think this time of year, but good to hear from you!

I LOVE this photo!!! She is asking where you've been too!!!

Hehehe she’s totally thinking…where you think you’re going?? You just got here?! 😆

Been a busy month so I’m not at all caught up on the thread, but wanted to pop in and share some cute pics 😍

My project Watermaal ladies went broody and I was out of town for work…sooo,
IMG_1868.jpeg

I gave them a couple last Ameraucana eggs from by blue/splash pen and let them keep the eggs they’d gathered of their own that were at least 5 days along. Looks like out of the 12 eggs I’m gonna get 6, two Ameraucanas and 4 Watermaals. 🥰 They're so adorable and fluffy and teeny! And outside 😆 which makes me happy! 😆

As for the rest of the flock, I still have three brooders to move outside and I’ve released all the breeding coops so they can enjoy the summer heat 🫠🤪 Feels really good to be done with the chaos of babies! Cannot wait to sell some more 😆

What a sweet photo that is! Good to hear from you!

We are trying out a new watered so our birds have plenty to drink during this extreme heat we are having here in FL. While south FL has been inundated with rain us in north have not received any or only a passing rain. We have put in a gravity feed waterer with cup and they took to it immediately. Watermelon rind have been given to help keep cool. Thy ar finally getting less skittish when e walk into each coop. Early crowing is starting as cockerels train their vocals.

Can I have some, too? There is almost nothing like it!, well except for fresh baby peas straight from the pod. Except for the worms. Lucky kids!
I'd be more than happy to have some too. Sweetcorn is my absolute favourite vegetable and in any way it's prepared. Except with worms - yuk! My brother assures me they are not nice...

Oh my! She looks determined you're not getting out without paying your ransom 😆
Welcome back! I've been wondering how you are?

They are soooo gorgeous 😍 😍😍😍
The one tucked under your girl's wing looks just like Stan when he was a tiny hatchling.

You can have some of our rain! I think we've only had 30 dry days since January and our temps are about 3° below average for June. The chickens are still enjoying their watermelon regardless.
