What did you do with your flock today?

We are 8 weeks old today. We decided to serenade our human with adult voices that sound like puberty is in full swing. We have discovered our attitudes and know we can get rid of our human if we threaten to bite.

The Chickens.
😄

When does puberty end? After 18-20 weeks, when they start laying?
Mine are a little over 11 weeks. They change so much every day.
I have one Roo. That wasn't part of my plan, lol.

The grass is turning green again after a couple rainy days, so the girls are happy to have grazing area again. They've been getting fallen apples, but I had to remove many because it was too much. I have a couple leghorn girls who just have to fly up on the roof of the coop in the mornings. Occasionally they go into the garden, then it's round up time to get them out and back into their yard.
I fileted a couple salmon that my friend gave me, so I gave the girls the carcass to pick on. They weren't too sure at first, because maybe they didn't want their food looking at them, LOL., but when I checked a couple hours ago, they were getting snacks. Now that crabbing season is over, this is a good way to recycle these, and the girls get some healthy protein.

My lot love salmon and sardines but not white fish, bizarrely. I might see if my cousin has caught any this week as everyone (except contrary Clara) is moulting and in a funk about it. Gladys is being a stone cold b*tch and even Ferdy isn't his usual happy self (he's still super affectionate with me but he's been running off the cats and pecked DH's leg). Time to break out the biotin supplements!

Salmon and sardines are high in Omega 3 fatty oils, maybe your flock is aware of nutritional needs?
