What did you do with your flock today?

You ate boiled mice?

By accident when I was about 12 years old. I wanted to use the fancy teapot that had sat unused for years on the top shelf. I had some silly notion I wanted tea out of a China cup, brewed in the 'special' pot. I don't even like tea! Even then I was a coffee kid.
So, anyways, the pot comes down, gets a quick rinse and filled with boiling water. I get distracted, forget to add a teabag, go do something else, come back to pour my tea, take one mouthful and I'm nearly sick! What I thought was a teabag floating in the pot, turned out to be a mummified, long dead mouse🤮

The area by the coop door has been decluttered, and a new containment fence added.

Due to predators my flock do not free-range, but occasionally a hen or two try to escape when I open the coop door. The fencing is meant as a discouragement, not proof against cats/dogs/etc.

Why does this bird have to make me crazy? She is stunning. Solid coloring coppery iridescent. Then there is this one feather hidden I. Her wing. Teri the Terrible Tease is what I call her. Teriyaki is my girl. She hangs out with me and even allows touches. Then once a week we try to bite the hand that feeds us. Mad about the lack of treats, I believe.
