From the american heartland cook book:
2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
4 teaspoons backing powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter
1/2-3/4 cup milk

Preheat oven to 450F Combine Flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles course crumbs.
mix in enough milk to make a soft, but not wet dough. Divide dough into two parts. pat out each part into a six inch round, place on ungreased cookie sheet, cut into six wedges, leaving wedges in place.
Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

You can also add a sugar and egg white glaze, or dried fruit if you like.

The recipe is very flexible.

@mymilliefleur thank you so much! I'm going to give them a try this weekend. I love good scones (just haven't had luck finding a decent recipe for making them at home). I'll let you know how they turn out. Thanks!

I think you just won a prize for the best breakfast of the day, lol.

I had some cheese, a piece of hard salami and crackers. Then after morning chores I had an apple & peanut butter. And I just finished off the broken chip crumbs in the bag DH left in the cupboard. I think breakfast, lunch and maybe even a snack were all covered there somewhere.
