What did you name your chicks?

I am not a huge fan of "cute" names. I like old lady names better for some reason, just seems to suit chickens. Like Hazel, Myrtle, Esther, Phyllis, etc...

I was totally thinking old lady names too! Husband looked at me like I was crazy, but when I think of them getting older all I can picture is a weird chicken-y Golden Girl thing happening. They're 3 weeks and still no names, we'll see I guess!

We have 4 chickens..2 Reds who are Stretch and Ming Ming (my 2 yr old son named her after "The Wonder Pets" show but Ming Ming is actually a duck on it..still cute tho!)
2 Australorps who are Boots (another named by my son after Dora's little monkey friend) and Maui because we think she may be a he.
And 2 ducks who are Frank and Beans.

It's fun naming animals..alot easier than naming your own children!

We had a duckling named Min-ming lol. A little Pekin. Unfortunetly it didnt make it. But I thought the name was cute, my DD came up with it, she likes Wonder Pets also.

ha! my friend named his Parmesan, Alfredo, BBQ...

I told my son he had to name his chicks Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. So far we have 11 named Dinner.

My first eight were named Tara, Christina, Jennifer, Monica, Jill, Julie, Kim and Shannon. They were named after eight of my friends., but all eight of them turned out to be roosters. My next ten Buff Orps were hatched on Christmas. I have Roo-dolf, Boy, Boy, Boy, Girl, Girl, Girl, Girl, Girl and Girl. They all look the same and we can't tell them apart, except for Roo-dolf who is huge and crowing.

Then I have 22 three week olds in the brooder named Chickie, Chickie, Chickie, Chickie etc... 22 times.

The 5 yo girl named the Seabrights: Chica, Flower, Dinner (roo)
The 12, 9 & 7 yo boys named the Barred Rocks: Abe Lincoln, St. Miller, and some other video game related name that I always forget
I still have 30 other chickens to name!

If my BF has anything to do with naming them they will be: Stir Fry, Crockpot, Cacciatore, Fried etc...
