What did you name your chicks?

Hehehe! I love the "old lady" names for chickens to.

We have:
Charlotte (Buff Orp)
Rosalie (RIR)
Janey (Barred Rock)
Petunia Chipmunk (Speckled Sussex.....I think)
Burdock (Wyandotte)

3 more to name, with 7 more babies coming in a month. The Red Frizzle out of that batch will be Katiss.....the chick on fire! LOL

Our ducks will be Annie and Finnick (Again, Hunger Games) if they are a boy and girl, or Annie and Lucy if two girls.

I am not a huge fan of "cute" names. I like old lady names better for some reason, just seems to suit chickens. Like Hazel, Myrtle, Esther, Phyllis, etc...

Just found this list of old lady names ,there are some really good chicken names on here ! http://nameberry.com/list/248/Old-Lady-Names

I agree, old lady names all the way! LOL Its like the ol' "hens in a henhouse, gossiping over tea" concept, LOL I said this to my husband and kids right from the start, and they dont agree, but I love it!

So we named our two Buff Orpington Hens Goldie and Eleanor. The Easter Egger will be Bernadette and the Mille Fleur will be Rose.

I love seeing all the different names!! I am on day 19 with 26 eggs in my incubator so I'm sure I will be using some of them!!

So far we have -----

Boys that we're keeping
White Cochin - Mr. Marshmallow
Mystery - possibly Golden Comet - Buckbeak

Girls
Easter Egger - Chilly (dd named her)
Ancona - Speckles (sister named her)
Blue Andalusian - Henrietta (I named her)
Barred Rock - Ally (DS named her)
Silver Lakenvelder - Moon (my sister named her)
Partridge Silkie (we have 3 , I'm crossing my fingers one is a girl) -- Tinker Bell (youngest DD named this one)

We also have 8 more silkies, another possible Barred Rock pullet but we're waiting to be sure, and miscilaneous boys as meat birds. These other birds do not have names yet until he are certain any of them become girls, then we will name them.

We also have :
1 Pekin duckling named Po
1 Cayuga duckling named Jet (Or Jenny if its a girl)
1 Rouen duckling named Chip

We have...

2 leghorns- Heidi & Macey
3 barnyard mutts- Rosie, Nina, and Thor (our rooster)
And a teeny baby whos gender is unknown, but we've been calling him Twiglt.

We have 4 chickens..2 Reds who are Stretch and Ming Ming (my 2 yr old son named her after "The Wonder Pets" show but Ming Ming is actually a duck on it..still cute tho!)
2 Australorps who are Boots (another named by my son after Dora's little monkey friend) and Maui because we think she may be a he. ;)
And 2 ducks who are Frank and Beans.

It's fun naming animals..alot easier than naming your own children!

My year old girls are RuPaul, Raja and Bertha Venation. The month old girls are Bernadette, Mitzy and Felicia. All named after famous drag queens. I like the names people come up with like Divan or other food references....
