Our first chicks come on TUESDAY! Being in Wisconsin, we may go with naming the 8 chicks after cheeses:

Brie
Cheddar
Colby
Feta
Blue
Pepper Jack
Gouda
Munster

We'll see what their personalities are like before actually we name them. I also like the name Molly... Seems like a good Orpington name. :)

Our rooster - Drumstick
Doris
Goldie
Three new peeps we plan to name Lilly, Paula and Clare. We REALLY hope they are not Lyle, Paul and Clark

My boy's name my chickens:

Chicken Wings

Hot Wings

Elizabeth

It was only fair because I got to name our dogs.

What a fun thread! Lots of creative names.

We have 6 new babies here. Everyone in the family got to name one; my husband and two of my kids are very active in our community musical theater group, so all except 2 ended up with names from recent musicals. The other two came from characters in books. Well, I guess ultimately ALL the names came from books, but the kids were exposed through the theater. Our girls (I HOPE all girls):

Golda from Fiddler on the Roof
Madeline from Madeline's Christmas
Lucy from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown
Veruca from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
and the books:
Squirrelflight from a kids' fantasy series called Warriors - Squirrelflight is a cat ;-)
Hedwig from. . . umm, does anyone not know Harry Potter?

Yes, we have one chick named after an owl and one after a cat. Is that protection against predators or inviting disaster?
