Oh, we're suppose to put them in for guests? Ha! You must be more thoughtful than me.Today my Hens will have to stay inside their coops until my Guests leave. I can't have them pooping all over the place with visitors... I have missed seeing them out romping, it's been a busy week and I am afraid to not lock them up at 8p when it's dark ever since JamJam disappeared, so if we aren't going to be home early, they have to stay inside ....Can't wait to let them out. I hope these "Peeps" don't overstay their visit...I'm bad! I'd really rather spend time with my hens today... hahahahaha
hahaha, as it turns out...I let them all out and they all sat by the sliding glass door where we were all seating...LOL ... sorry, "guests" that's just the way it goes. Actually, I didn't know if any "kids" were going to show and didn't want them harassing my hens! They kept competing for our attention the whole afternoon. It was hysterical...Oh, we're suppose to put them in for guests? Ha! You must be more thoughtful than me.![]()
My older chicken died of egg laying problems and now I only have one. She follows me around the yard and when I sit down she jumps on my lap. She also perches on the arm of my lawn chair when I sit outside to watch her. She is very healthy and doing well but I think she needs a chicken friend.
I had a video, but I can't find it. My Nephew shared with me that the Rabbit, inside the chicken coop eating the Rabbit feed. The 2 Pullets both tried to go in and the Rabbit put both front paws in the dish as to say NO and waited til they backed off...too funny. Wish I could find it, I'd post it for you. The Rabbit tunnels under everything but always stays in their yard. It's been 3 yrs now
Today my chickens will get rewormed. Sounds like they'll be having fun, eh? Might be it's me that'll be having fun trying to catch 'em.I promised to give them (and me,
) a treat when I'm done.![]()

Update on Greenie: Greenie is doing MUCH better. She is eating and drinking and noticeably more active. She is allowed to run around when I'm outside everyday, so I can keep an eye on her. Her head is healing, the scab is getting smaller. She DOES NOT like me to catch her but she DOES keep me in site. She's gotten pretty brave and goes all over the front yard but she doesn't stray too far away. I noticed that she usually comes when I call her - I say "come on, come on..." and when she gets me in site, she comes running! So maybe her trust is returning little by little.
And today - she LAID HER EGG!First egg since the attack several weeks ago! Now today, she gets a dose of wormer, too.![]()
