You ever heard a rooster crow at 11 pm? Lol I just got home and he heard me and crowed :/ I love my Pigpen!

Yesterday I heard my rooster singing for the first time...today he woke me up at 7 o'clock...i'm very proud if him...as I write here i can hear him and my other rooster singing

Went to the lumber company yesterday and my hubby bought a bunch of stuff and threw together a pretty decent coop/run with no plans. It's not the prettiest thing but it will serve the purpose! Putting the roof on today. I'm tired of having to keep Pig n Lucy on lockdown cuz of those darn hawks. There's three now and they sit on our light pole in the driveway and stare at the chickens

Too funny my hubby same way "no more chicken!" Then the very next day we went to feed store, he locked my wallet in the va, and walked inside with me. He spotted 2 little lonley silver laced wyandottes and walked out with them!! He politely informed me they were HIS not mine LOL guys are to funny

FYI when we started this venture I was told I could only have 10 total chicken or he would disown me

. As of today I have 10 adults, 5 teenage, the two 4 month wyandottes, 17 chicks, and 24 in the incubator! And he loves every bit of it! Even extended the coop fr Mother's Day!

Today I found out Madonna my 14yr old has been laying eggs on the sly...under the workbench ... I let her out while I was watering and she disappeared...then as I passed by, she was cooing at me. I finally saw her sitting on eggs. She had 3 eggs under her. I don't know when she laid them this week, so I have to get rid of them, but she is a champ for sure!
