What did your chickens do today?

I got yelled at this morning. "Doop de doo, any eggs in this box?" "SKREEEEEEACK!!!!" "SORRY."
I snorted soda through my nose when I read that. Lol

My chicks got to try corn on the cob, you would have thought it was the best thing ever by the way they attacked it. And I was reminded why you don't walk in front of chicks if you have a cut or scab. One of my roosters found it interesting and I found it very very painful. Lesson learned.
Hahahahaha. I have found to be careful if I have 'naked toes' around my girls....summer I often have my toes painted some shade of pink/red and I think they think it is pieces of watermelon/strawberry............I also have a sapphire ring sometimes they think is a blueberry...silly chickens

One of my girls decided it was fun to knock on my glass back door every few minutes and whine at me... If I ignore it she does it louder and this is after she has eaten!! She knows she doesn't get treats everyday.
Gotta give her an "A" for effort!! My girls think I should bring treat every time they see me. Spoiled chickens!! We are not at the egg laying age yet...but I keep telling them all these yummy treats I give them, they better give me LOTS of good eggs!!!

My chickens broke there watering container, so I rush off to buy a new one.they only have hangingone so i buy one. Hang it up and the chickens tip it and "take a shower" It surprised them so much you should have seen the looks on there faces. then, a crow came and tryed to eat there chicken feed. this freaked them out and they ran to me for protection

My Banty Roo is trying to find his voice today. lol Unfortunatly it sounds horrible and nothing like a crow. He's been making a similiar sound everytime he see's me in greeting but never gets within 3 feet of me...Unless I have crickets. I discovered they LOVE crickets this morning. I couldn't pass up the cup of crickets walmart was selling in the fishing dept last night. I despise crickets, can barely look at them and in no way can touch them. For some reason watching my flock devour them is satisfying to me.

OK we have tried mealworms with great success....looks like I am going to have to get my girls some crickets now with all the rave reviews.

Had just a little spaghetti sauce (meat) left over--not enough to save (about 2-3 tbsp) So I thought I would offer it to the girls see if they like their momma's Italian cooking :) They all bum rushed me and tasted then looked at me like.....WHAT IS THIS??????? That was it for the sauce-after that all they wanted to do was walk in it so I removed it from their pen......guess my girls dont like sauce :)

Mine are all a month and a half to two months old. Haven't been in the coop that long. Today one found a nightcrawler. They all chased each other around for the treat then eventually dropped it. A few pecked at it then immediately went off to wipe their beaks. Four are standing around just watching it wiggle like it confuses them. I guess they don't like worms. :)
