What did your chickens do today?

Okay, here's a (probably) silly question for all of you. Don't the chickens poop on you when they're climbing or sitting on you? My first-ever chicks are due in a few days, and I do plan to handle them a lot to keep them friendly, but I just can't see getting pooped on all of the time:)

My chicks sometimes sit on me for up to an hour and the other day was the second time one of them pooped on me. She telegraphed it too so I had time to think about what was happening but I had 9 other chicks on me and I couldn't move quickly enough to put her down on the ground. They are 12 weeks old and have had lots of time to do it but it really doesn't happen often at all. The first time was really gross, the second wasn't too great either but they are so sweet that it doesn't really bother me much.

My month old chicks spent all day out in the yard in a little run I made for them. Hopefully they had a great day and sleep well tonight. I think soon they'll be staying in their outside coop at night too.

Hubby got to my chicks and let them into their prospective places before I did this morning. So I relaxed in the house a little longer than normal. When I went to let the dogs out to run for a little while, two of my 9-week-old Black Australorp girls had found their way out of the fence. They were standing just outside the gate trying to figure out how to get back in. It worries me that I don't know how they got out. I'm thinking maybe they found their way up in the fig tree and right over the fence. I hope I don't have to fence it in, I like the fact that they're going to be able to snack on the figs that drop to the ground.

My husband started putting an old towel under wherever my roo sits and he picked up "towel=poop" so he will go to the towel to poop now and come back. But he will have the occasional "wake up, stretch, oops! Sorry mom" but I love him so it's all good.

It won't take long until you, too, will utter "It's just poop!" and just flick it off.

Well, I hadn't had it happen in 9yrs until last week. I held LaLa too close and felt the warmth of a baby diaper leak on my leg. So, I quickly ran in the house changed, rinsed my pants and put Resolve Spray n Wash and after the laundry, no sign of "Poop" ... Anyways, now I just make sure I keep her "butt" outside my body line..LOL
