What disease causes failure to thrive?

I got back from the store. They didn't sell me some meds because I don't have a vet licence. My vet said his hospital does not deal with farm animals but sent me to another place for large farm animals. Catch 22.

I will call the next vet tomorrow when they are open.

Oh dear. It just now dawned on me you are in Canada.
Yes, I do believe your need a vet even for Corid...
If you vet can test a sample of that poop, that would be very good.

Do your best to keep getting fluids into him. I know he may not be wanting to eat his normal food, see if you can entice him with a little egg?

I got my hand on some amprol from a goat farmer. Do I understand it correctly: I mix one teaspoon of liquid into one gallon of water, and give him whatever he can drink? This is the dose for the water in the coop for all chickens to share.
Or should I take a drop and put that in his mouth undiluted?

Ninja chickie had cramping diarrhea. I heard the growling and then farting when he pooped. He did not look comfortable then. Poop is very stinky like a sick person's diarrhea.

It does not matter now. I just went to give him meds but he passed away while I was out.

I should still treat the rest of the flick
Just in case. Is that for 5 days or 7?

I'm so sorry you lost him:hugs

Yes, you can give the Amprol to the others, it won't hurt. There is no egg withdrawal when using Amprol.

Here is the dosage to use 1 1/2 teaspoons Corid powder per gallon or 2 teaspoons of 9.6% Corid liquid per gallon. Give for 5-7 days - make sure this is the ONLY water available during that time period. Mix a fresh batch at least once a day.

What is the best way to dispose of the dead body? We can't burn a fire now due to extreme fire hazard and the more than 150 wild fires still burning.
I don't want to bury it if the disease can be spread from the dirt. If that is not an issue I can bury it.
I saw people putting it in the garbage but that again could cause spread of disease.
