Thanks everybody, I got luck on this , my grandfather bought it all back in 1940 @ $7 an acre, when he passed he left it all to me and my family.... Would never have been able to afford all it otherwise!!!
As for the duck questions, you cant make them use a box, it has to be their choice. A lot of them will never use one. Watch the hens, see where they like to go and put the boxes in that general area will help, but in the end, it's her call, especially on free ranged ones.
Calls can lay most all spring/summer if you continue to pull her eggs for incubation, otherwsie a clutch for her to set will generally range from 8-15 eggs, 12 being a good average.
If you are pulling them for incubation, just collect all week and set every 7 days or so, what I do.
I put them all in on Friday nights, that way they usually hatch on a Saturday when I'm here.
