What do chicks sleep on?

I have always had chickens from point of lay but am collecting a dozen two week old chicks tomorrow. Everything's ready apart from what they lie on.

Can you advise me please

they lay on pine shavings in the brooder. If you have enough room you might stick a branch in there somewhere and they will play on it

At 2 weeks, anything other chickens have for bedding... Newbord chicks maybe be a little more picky, but by 2 weeks they should be ok... Maybe avoid things they could consider "food" like small wood chips or something... Ours at 2 weeks have always gotten hay and never seemed to mind
