Look, i know it looks very red but believe me when i say its the photo quality. This was most definitely a bright yellow sac with veining around it. So far baby is still alive. Half of the sac needed to get cut off as it had dried and gotten stuck to Mama's leg. I cleaned him up and put him under the lamp to dry. Here he is today.
heres a picture of the "area". as you can see the vent is the little hole above the prolapse...whats left of it is now drying like the other half did. Im still not holding much hope though. He is very lethargic, will not open his eyes, and though he tries, cannot walk.
Sorry but looks like insides to me i kept them moist with a sterile wet cloth and pushed them back inside the chick survived. When i have seen yolk sacks they are smooth not with lumps an bumps like this
i know how it looks, but i touched this thing and felt it and there are no lumps and bumps. I think it looks so funny because when he hatched it WAS absorbed. After cutting off the dried half a little yolk came out. can you see on the white towel all the yellow stains?i do not think the chick would have lived a full day missing most of its internal organs.... Im just trying to tell you guys the pic is definitely misleading. This thing was yellow..If there were insides in that sac then they were in with the yolk and if thats the case than this chick is 100% going to die because most of the sac is gone now
okay well he just stood up, peeped with all his might, then squirted out a GIANT green/yellow turd. I hope thats a good sign ? looks like it took alot of effort. He then proceeded to lie back down and conk out.
