Thanks Texaschickmama! I found a place that will give me lots of pallets, I'm going to make something temporary out of them, straw, and tarps. Then next spring I'll work on something nice.

My b/f is replacing our front door that had some damage on it when we moved in. He had to replace the storm door too, cause the new door was different and the old one wouldn't fit, anyway, he was going on about how it was still a good door and he wished the place would have bought our old door since it was "perfectly fine". I told him, no problem, you can use it on my new coop you're going to build me next spring!!! Ha! I got the evil eye, but I'm immune!!!

Hate to say it but I agree with Coyote, take the $$ used to clothe, feed and take care of him and spend that on the coop....

or just get a new BF.

At least with my BF all I do is ask nicely and threaten "Harmony in the home" which he knows what that means. Life for him becomes a living hell. It always works. All the nice things I do for him become non existent.

I have a beautiful insulated large coop and so much space to expand my 37 chickens...threaten and you shall receive.......

Seriously, I would think the pallets and straw would work fine, I am in Minnesota and I have a winter fortress but then I need that.

oh, I want a nice large coop for them, so he'll be working on a nice one in the spring! He knows that he's just being a jerk. We've been together forever, so he'll get over it while he's working on my new coop! I already have 24 chickens. In spring I'll let more babies hatch out and then I'll have even more! They pay for their keep by supplying us with lots of delicious eggs and keeping the bug population under control. They deserve to be warm and protected this winter. I think he is just PMSing!!!

Yes, I will go rent Fried Green Tomatoes, I've never seen it. However I wanted to announce that we started building a nice coop yesterday!!!

Fried Green Tomatoes, ladies, you crack me up. Sometimes they have to vent and so , no, no, no, then they calm down and say, what can I do to help. Glad he is helping you with a coop. I'm not too far from you, you know.
