What do I do now?

Thanks. The 15 watt is 120 volts and gives off enough heat for my lava lamp to work.

I don't think I have anything that would take a 25 watt unless I replace my desk lamp.

Go to the first page. They have a ton of links that will be very helpful. Did your carton specifically say fertile eggs?

Thanks. I'll take a look. And yes the carton was marked Fertile eggs but they're 2 weeks old according to the date.

So should I try with another egg from the same carton or wait until I can get a hold of some new ones?

Typically the incubator should be up and confirmed to be at appropriate temp before loading eggs. So, I would not get another set of eggs until your incubator is sorted out. Until then, keep on going with the current batch. You are still too early to quit with this batch. It is possible to hatch out old eggs.

Ok, though I'm concerned about if it doesn't work out. I have read about people who tried to hatch Trader Joe's eggs that were 10 days old but nothing happened.

Oops, sorry I didn't see this last night. Keep going and you can replace the eggs with fresher ones at the 1 week to 10 day mark if things don't develop. It is hard to wait, but you need time to tweak your setup

So, basically should I wait and try again with fresher eggs or incubate the egg I currently have?

Use the current eggs for now. Get your incubator set up properly and if you don't see any growth in your current batch after TEN days of INCUBATION replace with fresh eggs. From my understanding, you have to finish setting up your homemade incubator anyways, right? No sense wasting another batch while you have this one at your disposal. You need to make sure your current set up is holding temps properly with no wide variations. Did you read Sally Sunshine's tips?
