What do I do with a chick that was born an hour ago???

setting up a brooder is a very simple process.. First make sure you keep it warm. Then get chick starter and a safe waterer (available at walmart) if there are no feed stores locally.
If you handle the little squirt it will become your bestest friend.

It's got all it needs rn and I hope it does become my bestest of friends considering it would be my only friend now 😂💓😂💓😂

I just started raising chicks this year.. I've had a bundle of fun. Have my second group in the brooder.. Tomorrow they will be 3 weeks.

new chick in brooder temp needs to be 95 degrees I don't know Celsius. But corn meal in the chick food to prevent pasty butt. put it beak into the water(should have clean marbles or pebbles in it so the chick can't drown). Recommended heat make sure it does not dehydrate. You can try putting the chick under her wing in the dark and see if she take is. Maybe she is just a bad mom or maybe she needs more practice. good luck

It probably accidentally got put of the nest. Mama won't leave the majority to save a single chick.

I've never heard of other animals adopting offspring that wasn't theirs besides humans and the odd cat or dog. Offspring that isn't their's are competition against their genetic code.

Is momma currently setting on other eggs??? That chick would go right back under her easily if so. If you insist on keeping it a brooder bird, grab a buddy from under her so she’s not alone.
