What Do I Do With Wheat?

That's where I get mine too. We farm and I always save some back when we're harvesting. After corn harvest I go out and gather up ears that the combine missed...they love pecking the corn off the ears.

They can peck the dent corn off when it's totally dry?? That sounds like a good job for my kids (picking up ears, not pecking corn).

Yes, I just throw an ear in and they go after it.

My chickens dont seem to like wheat..unless I sprout it. Then they go crazy over it! You could always sprout some of it for them too!

I did mine in some glass jars. I filled them half full of wheat then let soak overnight in water. I took some tulle and a rubber band and covered the opening. I drained and rinsed until the water was clear, laid the jars on their side my sink and just rinsed a few times a day. Within 1 day, you could see them starting to sprout. Day two, I took out some, as they looked crowded and fed them. Day 3, I fed half of each jar and finished them off today. I did the rinsing every day.
