What do i feed broodies and chicks in the same cage??

Personally, when feeding chicks, I would nix the scratch altogether and just feed a flock raiser or all flock type feed.

Last year I just went with 100% chick crumbles for the entire flock (5 hens and 7 chicks). The chicks did great and the hens kept laying. When they got mid size I switched the entire flock over to egg layers. Again everybody seemed to be fine. It must have worked because this year all of the above are producing eggs, sitting on eggs or fertilizing eggs.
