. When the comb is red like it is in the photo,( the head's photo) and the bird is young, is male. The pullets at that age have the comb very pale (yellowish) and turn red, near the point of lay.
do you already have roos? we had 2 head roos so when the ones i thought were "hens" started crowing we realized they were just very slow growing roos. someone on here said a slow growing roo can take up to a year to mature
Maybe its just me but I see saddle feathers on that one. Look at the top photo before the tail starts there is a long curled skinny feather there. It just looks like he is taking a long time to get his feathers in or another roo has been pecking them out. He also has a EE roo butchers apron coloring. But I could be wrong.
