I am really wanting ducks as well, and I have one more question: Are ducks friendly? I think they are, but my dad needs more info on this subject. He thinks that ducks don't want to be handled/ touched. Do you disagree?

Spend as much time as possible with them as babies. I wouldn't chase them at all unless absolutely necessary, because that just enforces the predator-prey instinct. Herding them slowly, in a non-threatening manner is okay too.
Also, I've found that my ducks protested being picked up, but as soon as they were in my lap, they calmed down. They would start standing, then slowly lower themselves and sit on my lap. Then they would get even more comfortable, and start to preen, nose at my hand, quack at me for treats, nibble at the zipper of my coat... Or my hair...
