What do other moms want for mother's day?

I never ask for anything. I am grateful for what I have and I don't get particularly worked up about opening gifts. My daughter usually buys me chocolates

.

This year, DH & the kids will take me out to eat. Maybe I'll get a nap, afterwards.

I think that if you feel appreciated (truly, daily, really), you don't need a big show.

DS (7) is growing me a marigold in school.. I've saved a special place for it in my garden too. With DH gone, and all my kids little, we're going to all go out to the nursery, and pick up some plants, maybe a cherry tree. though I know DH is sending me cut flowers from the florists... he's sweet, and I appreciate the sentiment, but it's not what i'd pick to spend $68 on!!!! (yes, i checked the CC reciepts..)

Saturday I am going to my aunt's to see how she takes care of her 5 one year old RIRs. She is 2 hours away and while there I will stop by my mom's grave and bring her new flowers.

My guys will be starting the run for the new coop for our 9 chicks while I am gone. Such nice men! I have three almost grown boys and loving husband. I am blessed!

All I want is the house clean. It would be nice if all the kids were nice to each other and maybe a back rub from DH. I know the kids have made things for me in school and they usually grow flowers too.

Usually we don't do anything for Mother's day or Father's day. But as I was leaving for work yesterday and DH was walking out to the barn, I was struck with a perfect idea and called out "Honey, you could get me a garden wagon for mom's day!" so, we'll see. Maybe this will be a year that I DO get a gift.

When the kids ask, I always tell them I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have them clean their bedrooms.

Then they say, "No, mom, just tell me something I can BUY you."

Athough I lke cut flowers, I really don't want any jewelry either. I am a stay at home mom, with alot of animals and property. I don't think the goats and dogs care how many carrots my diamond earrings are. I want my driveway paved. ( Alot of our neighbors are having it done around us, we are very jealous!!) We live out in the country where everything is gravel and I am always slipping on the rocks or something and tweeking my already bad hips:(- Back here on planet reality, I would like a nice day with no kids fighting as well, and I really like the idea of husband and kids cleaning the house as good as I would clean it...then keep it that way for at least a day!
