What do quails need to lay eggs

My birds thrive on a 16% layer chicken crumble feed.🧐
What brand do you feed?
How many eggs do you average a week per hen?
Been a while since I've raised them but when I did I tried it for a few months and egg production dropped enough it wasn't feasible to continue just to save the amount I was on feed.

So basically because one link says its okay to feed layer feed where il add theres plenty of links saying nt to do so here in england with out extra protein and because ur personal experience also states ur quail thrive on layer feed we are wtong giving misinformation and u must be right @Kiki Is this correct?
Sam
No, absolutely not.

not trying to start a war. You are correct "can't" was the wrong word to use. The question posed was I'm using layer feed and my quail aren't laying so I gave advise based on what I do.

To be honest layer feed is way cheaper than what I use so maybe I should give it a try

Saying you can't or should not feed a layer type feed is wrong.
This particular OP's would be better off eating any type of chicken food besides just sunflower seeds.

I'm not sure what you're talking about but the OP of this thread is not feeding layer feed.
He's feeding sunflower seeds.

Look it I put some artificial light to them and give them crushed layer pellets and going to buy game feed
Fantastic. The sooner you get them in their own cage and keep them in the same secure environment the better chance you have at getting eggs.

All this moving them around is stressing them out.
