I totally agree quail cant live on just sunflower seeds again i wasnt intending to be arguementive ok what i should of said is in my personal opinion and experience i feel quails shouldnt not eat just layer feed as not enough protein supplement but everyone is different u can put popcorn and fizzy drink away now @RoosterML

I don't only feed them on sunflower seeds they also get twisty snacks for quails

Treats shouldn't be more than 10% of their diet. Make sure they're getting a good game bird or layer feed. If you give them game bird crumble, offer them calcium (oyster shell or egg shell in quail size pieces) on the side.

They should have a balanced feed. Both of those food items should be considered treats.

Can they swallow it? If they can, then put some of what you feed in there. They will pick out the seeds and eventually when they’re hungry enough they’ll start on the gamebird food. Same goes for if you want to switch them to chicken layer feed, they are slow to get used to new things.

I wasn't trying to argue either but I wanted you to know that you were wrong when you were saying that you cannot feed quail chicken layer feed.
That is not true.

There are actually many people who successfully raise a coturnix quail on chicken starter feeds and chicken layer feed and never feed them game bird feed.
You will not raise happy healthy birds on caged bird seed or sunflower

I'm going to take your advise and try switching over to layer food. May save some money
