Been thinking about getting a pair of pheasants for awhile as eye candy for my dad. I found this pair on Craigsllist today. Coincidentally they happen to belong to the same lady who had peafowl and silkies I went and looked at today. I don't know much about pheasants but they do look young and very brown and dull but I know the males color comes in later. She said they are definitly a pair and are 2 months old. She didn't seem so certain as to what kind they are. I've tried looking up information on young birds but all of the chicks just kind of look the same to me. What do you pheasant experts think? Here is the CL ad.

It sounded like a good price to me.

Can't really tell what the chicks are by the pic, but if they are Red Goldens (like adult shown) then that is a good price. Males will have yellow eyes, females brown. females will stay a brown color, males should be showing some sign of color, wither it being yellow about the face or color in the tail etc... look on here for pics of RG youngsters. I can't find pics of mine.....

That's definatley a good price. The way to tell the chicks from male and feamle is the eye color. The males iris will ethier be blueish gray or light olive, the feamle's iris is chocolate.
