If there are sruelty laws in your state, then it can be reported as a crime = probably to your sherrif or whatever.

If they bother to ask just respond with "Wasnt she really old? Maybe she crawled off to die, that sometimes dogs do that and wherever the pup is she's probably at peace." I'd be surprised if they care enough to ask seeing as the did not seem to care for the animal in the first place.

I would tell them that she found in your pond, was dead and not in a condition to return to them so your husband buried her for them. Not a lie



She was not in any condition to be returned to that kind of a family dead or alive. Chance are she had a very painful case of glaucoma. Most rescues are over run right now, but you might see if one is willing to spay the jack russell.

In all honesty I think you just committed a crime. Killing another mans dog no matter how bad of shape is most likely against the law. You might be bale to say it was harassing your livestock. but if they ask just tell them she was found dead near the tile and was burried.

The dog died. Dont tell that your DH shot her. Just that she died, and you buried her for them. Get the Jack russell, and find ehr a new home. As for the Boxer, I'd do the same. Find her a new home with someone who'll shut up and just take care of her and give her comfort for the remaining time she has. Continue to do that. Sooner or later they'll stop getting dogs. Jerks.

It is truly a sad situation but I feel you are wasting your time. They sound as if they are broke and any fine will most likely go unpaid and if paid that in turn will take away most surely from any care thier animals do get.
