What do you charge for a dozen?

I told someone I was going to charge 1.50 and they said "aren't farm grown things suppose to be cheaper than the store?" I was a little stumped, as I am new to all this chicken stuff. I just said "not always".

I sell my eggs for 2.00 a dozen, I have a butcher who sells his meat to resturants in NYC and he buys my eggs for 4.00 a dozen so he probably charges them 5-6 a dozen. I don't charge friends and family but they now have to put orders in for eggs since I sell so much at school and to the butcher. Guess its time to get more chickens

$2 for a dozen of mixed size eggs. I have eight hens so I only have about 3 dozen a week to sell, but I have people waiting for them.

Me thinks it may be time to expand the flock.

Ive been charging $2.00 for now (EE eggs go to elderly gentleman for free, only 4 ees lol) I may charge .50 more when people find me. Family and friends in need get em free. Im not in it to make money but anything I get to help off set feed cost a plus

I'm planning on charging $2.50 if I supply the carton $2.00 discount if they supply the carton. Duck eggs will sell for $3.00.
But I don't have my chickens/ducks yet and once they get here in March I've got a long wait before I'll get eggs and maybe by then I'll change my idea on prices!

well we only charge $1 per dozen without a carton. friends and family pay too, they won't just take them for nothing. i figure this is enough to help with feed.
