What do you charge for a dozen?

my hens are laying but the eggs are all different sizes ,the hens are all 21 weeks old and have been laying for two weeks now,,yesterday I got ten eggs and one was a double yolk, will each hen continue to lay the same size eggs or will they change ?

From my understanding, and recent experience, they will get a little bit bigger over the first few weeks of laying. And I hear they will be bigger after the hen goes through a molt.

I think this varies a lot with where you live. A lot of people around my area raise their own chickens so the price is lower. I charge $1.50 a dozen for my eggs they vary in size and are white and brown.

Wow!!! Maybe I should start shipping my spare eggs to Zimbabwe...

I couldn't find empty egg cartons anywhere, so I had people (my mom, and friends) save theirs and give to me.well, turns out they didn't want to buy eggs any more, saw theirselves as chicken partners, I suppose. Then I found 400 empty cartons at a local auction, now they pay, they all pay MMMMAAAAHHHHHaaaaa.

For those who sell the eggs cheaper without a carton i have to ask, what are you putting them in? Do they bring a carton?
I charge $2 and would love to charge more but i am afraid to loose the customers i have, this is the first month that my chickens have paid for there own food.
i spend about $55-$60 a month I make about $36 -$40 a month. i am sure my food cost will down in the summer because i will be letting them out more, then planting them a garden also.

I am hoping that my family don't think they will get them for free. My brother-in-law helped move our chicken coop to our house and as he was leaving he said that he could eat omlets everyday. I guess as a hint. But a brother-in-law is suppose to help and I can give him a gift card if he feels he is owed something.

I bought 50 brand new egg cartons and am going to put a customized label on them. If they bring them back and reuse them then that would be good. If not I think I will put them in a shoebox but charge the same price, since I am still the one feeding the chickens and gathering the eggs.
