What do you charge for a dozen?

We sell ours to co-workers for $2.50 /dozen and give away some to family and friends. Gives us pocket change to buy lottery tickets and other small things, and of course family and friends - providing they aren't demanding - get free eggs. I couldn't, in good conscience, charge family members for eggs but everybody's circumstances are different.

We took a poll at work (since those people will be the ones buying most of our eggs) and everyone said they would be willing to pay $3 to $3.50 for a dozen eggs. So we're going to charge $3. We told everyone back in Oct. when we got the chicks that we needed egg cartons and everyone (not just the people that want eggs) started bringing them to us. I think we've got close to 100 stacked up in the closet!! Now if we could just get some eggs........

I generally trade, especially when the people I work with start harvesting from their garden. I DO NOT have a green thumb so I trade for home grown tomatoes, cucumber, green beens, sweet peas etc.
One co-worker's husband works for a company that makes laundry, dish detergent and hand soap. He gets these items for next to nothing or free when they have overrns, so my co worker gets free eggs and I have not bought the above mentioned items in two years.
One neighbor works for a hotel chain in their marketing department so when I go on my yearly vacation she gets me a SWEET DEAL on my hotel room. Trust me, the trade is heavily weighted to my side, she only takes a dozen eggs about every other week.

Originally $3 but there was too much competition so I lowered it to $1.50 for a dozen and .75cts for a half, just temporarily.

We charge $3 dollars per dozen and per 18 pack. We figure it is the right price for the kind of eggs the people want. (Brown, green, pink, etc.)
