What do you do for a living? Anyone work w/animals for a job???

I currently have a horse boarding business. I have 2 horses of my own and board 7 others. Just started hatching and sell chickens and eggs.

In the past, I have worked in a vet office, been a kennel tech, and dog groomer.

I also worked in a bank for many years, but decided I liked working with animals more than people!!

I was a certified veterinary technician for 10 years, then I taught veterinary classes at a local college, now I teach chemistry full time at a university.

I used to be a Vet Manager, Tech, and Receptionist all in one. Then, one day I took down a shelf that everyone kept hitting their heads and backs on, they (upper management) got mad at me, I offered to put it back, they said no just don't do it again, and 2 days later I was given my walking papers!!! Then they tried fighting my unemployment, saying I couldn't stay because I was "friends with the employees, and they liked me too much". Needless to say I am currently receiving unemployment, and looking into a new job. I really miss my job. The employees and I were friends, and it has been hard for me. I miss the animals.

Has anyone ever been themselves or known someone who was a dog trainer for the blind or others who need that kind of assistance? I always thought that would be the neatest job and SO personally rewarding too! I would LOVE to learn more about that type of job and see what kind of training, etc it would take to get into something like that!

I own a small cleaning business and do that part time. I also am my bil's secretary one day a week for his business. This keeps me busy for now until my youngest starts kinde next year.
