What do you do for a living?

I'm a state certified general appraiser. I appraise residential, commercial, industrial property and land. I also rehab houses and sell them. On the side I etch and engrave on glass, paint with water based oils, make linoleum block prints and bead. Of course we have a garden, chickens, rabbits, rats, dogs, cats, and two horses. I hunt my dogs for fun.

I love hawks! We have wild geese here that fly over and a greater blue heron that shows up in winter to sun bathe next to my little pond. But hawks have always been favorites. The red tails. I like all things wild including the land. The hawks scoped out my chickens when I first put them in the pen but the trees that are overhead prevented them from getting an easy meal so they lost interest. I lock the chickens up at night to protect them from the night life - red, grey fox, opossums, raccoons & an occasional bobcat or yote. I don't like the yotes. There are so many of them that they are decimating the small game.

I'd love to take a course with you on creative writing - how cool! "our chicken empire"! I like that.

I run my own business from home making soap. Love it, set my own hours and have no boss. I have a booth at Daytona Beach Flea Market on Fri, Sat & Sun. and sell via the internet. Other than that I never leave the farm except to go get supplies.
I used to run a home health and equipment company for someone else. The biggest favor she ever did me was to lay me off two years ago. It was really tuff (close to foreclosure) for a while but now I wouldn't have it any other way. My blood pressure is down (no more meds), I sleep soundly at night and am happier than I have ever been.

I am working another job in the off season as a garbage man for Sara Lee. My wife works at Charter Communications in the Cash Management Department.

Otherwise I am trying to get Purely Poultry to be my full time income for my wife and I.
