What do you do for flies?

I sprinkled some in my run and around the edges today to see if it helps - I have the same trouble and the hanging trap isn't working at all

I am going to add some to the house oo after reading this thread!

Personally, I'd use pelletized lime for the run. (and the coop too)
It will cut down on the odors, costs a LOT less, and raises the PH of your soil

DE isn't the "wonder dust" that many say it is

You could put down a TON of DE or lime either one, and a fresh pile of poop on top will STILL attract some flies, no matter how many you kill.

The faster it dries, the less attractive it is to them​

Build a small fence or a-frame with burlap on in. Spray with water and wait 30 minutes. It will be covered with flies in no time, they just love that stuff. Next let your ducks out, they will have fun for hours eating them.

get an empty 2 liter bottle, at the top right where is starts to curve to the openeing, cut the top off, add a cup of water and a little raw meat, place the cut off top back on UPSIDE DOWN so its like a little bowl with a hole in the bottom leading into the rest of the bottle. tape top together. place in sun. wait 1 day, FULL OF FLIES, tie up in plastic bag and throw away. then make another. ive got two out back right now working overtime, PM me if you want a pic and ill see what i can do. or if you need better instructions.
