What do you do if you can't remember? 15 and 1 problem.

On Dec 28th ginbart wrote "I put 36 eggs in the bator last night and the temp was still at 95 this morning" in this thread .

Guess that is why I keep my dates in my signature on here of what I have and going to have otherwise I would forget too..I do write down when set then forget sometimes where wrote it..so this is how I do mine..good luck..

18 RIR hatched Nov 24, 2008....7 RIW hatched Dec 24, 2009....1 Royal Palm Turkey hatched Dec 30, 2008....8 Red Sex Link due to hatch Jan 13 2009 and 1 Royal Palm Turkey due to hatch Jan 20, 2009....11 BLACK AUSTRALORP due to hatch Feb. 2.

I use a ring binder notebook to keep all my hatches in. I record what I set, when I set, how many I set, what day to stop turning, when they hatched and how many, and anything that happened during incubation and hatch. This way I know what breeds of chicks I have, when they might begin laying and can correct mistakes for the next hatch.

I keep an excel spreadsheet.

You just put in the day you set the eggs, it figures out when is day 7, 14, 18, and 21. Then I just have to remember to look at the calendar once and a while.

DAY STANDARD EGGS (show girls)
7 1/15 1st candle, mark potential bad eggs
14 1/22 2nd candle
18 1/26 last candle, raise humidity
21 1/29 approximate hatch date

Now I just need to candle again because of the temps.
