I called someone today out of the Market Bulletin about some goats and it just rang and rang and rang. I was going to leave a message but like I said.... It just rang.
How do you deal with that? When should I call back?
What should I do?

Could be a person on dial up and they didn't realize the phone was ringing (abs switch). Or they were on the other line with an important call (Call waiting).

Believe it ot not, not everyone has answering machines.....I've got a couple of friends who don't have them and have no plans to get one. I guess you'll have to do like we did in the olden days......call back periodically throughout the day until someone is home to answer the phone.

Ah yes....Brings back memories of a time when, if no one answered the phone, it was because they weren't home or were outside and couldn't hear it ring! When people call me, that's exactly what happens because my answering machine is kaput and I haven't gotten around to replacing it

. I'd call them back around "after work time", maybe 5:30ish?

Yeah, we don't have an answering machine either. In fact, the only reason we have the house phone is to have internet. They might have been on the other line. My cell phone does that if I'm talking to someone else while someone is trying to call me.

Well I mean I figured they hadnt set up their mail box or didnt have one..
I just figured it would be rude to call back too soon, or what if I was too late?
How much is too much?

Im weird when it comes to phones..

Give a couple hours and try back. My dad never had his voicemail set up. It would just show if I called on his caller ID. That's possible too.

I used to write my Mom a letter if her phone rang and rang like that. She would call back a couple days later when she got the letter and ask what was that for and I would just crack up.
