What do you do with extra chicks?

I have several friends and relatives who take any of the chicks I want to get rid of. I am new to incubating so before I buy any eggs I want to do some test hatches with free eggs and I am giving away the results.

A couple people asked if I process them first. No, just do a cervical dislocation and toss them to the dogs. Even in older, feathered chicks. The dogs do their own processing. I am certain they could disassemble a full grown bird if I let them. They are toy and mini sized poodles, and a couple pugs.

I eat my extras. But then, I never hatch more than I need. Most of them get eaten at the fresh egg stage.

Do you have bantams? They are so small I can not imagine eating one.

Do you have bantams? They are so small I can not imagine eating one.

Just butchered two bantams yesterday (cochin roos).. the largest weighed out at 12 ounces.. the smaller was 11.. bigger than quail and taste good on the grill wrapped with bacon and stuffed with cream cheese!
