I keep chickens as both pets and for eggs, so I don't want to give them away/ kill them after they're done with their laying prime. I also don't want to buy new chickens every few years because I won't have room for them all!! So what do you guys who have egg laying pets do to solve this issue??

Thanks!!

I keep my chickens primarily for a pet purpose, so all of my birds stay with me until their last breath. I have some that are eleven years old and still going strong! I love having chickens that have been around for a long time, they're wonderful members of the family. I do get new birds fairly often, though, as well, so...er, I just keep putting chickens in different places and I'm planning on adding to the coop soon!
