If a chicken lays a soft egg, can you eat it?
I feed them to my dogs
I've actually seen my other chickens eat them:/.
I've eaten them. Never gotten sick or anything:/
Quote:We have one broody Silkie hen whose eggs have never been right. Saw the other chickens waiting, waiting, waiting while she seemingly napped in the lawn, then they reached under her and grabbed the soft egg and chased each other around with it! Til we saw that, we believed she had stopped laying altogether. But apparrently she continues to lay her soft eggs, like, wherever, and the others are eating them.
Haven't gotten one yet, but would probably play with it for awhile

I don't. Compost them. Don't really have a solid reason why, they just kinda creep me out to eat.
Eat them. They're perfectly fine except for a lack of enough calcium to form a complete shell.
