what do you feed quail

I feed mine gamebird. It is 28% protein. The need a lot of protein.
I don't think they ever stop eating.

thank you... I am thinking about getting some manchurian quail.... (not sure if I spelled it right)

Just a heads up Manchurians are the same thing as "goldens" and 'speckled coturnix" I call them goldens as it's just easier to ID them that way. They are gorgeous birds and if you get the jumbo sized ones their temperments are almost always exceptionable....my golden pen is my favorite pen

Where do you folks order the feed? Any recommendation for source online that offers good price?
What I can find at my local feed store are 28% pheasant crumble at 18$ per 50 lbs, and a 20% chicken starter at about 16$ per 50 lbs. Nothing like 28% chicken starter or gamebird starter. I would love to buy from somewhere cheaper if I can.

I don't know if they are jumbos... I haven't decided if will get them or not... they are a week and 1/2 old... I have never had quail before but i remeber my grandfather raised quail, pheasants, ducks, geese.chicken, and turkeys and I always enjoyed helping him feed the birds when I was little... I have wanted quail for a long time and I found them for $1 a piece so im thinking if they still have some friday Imay go get some...
