What do you feed your ducks?

Casportpony- most feeds sadly do not seem to. The cheapest one I have found that has some in it is Dumor from Tractor Supply. I think maybe going a good feed without it and then supplementing the meat in maybe the only option other then getting the Mazuri.

Drhawkeye07- less waste would always be beneficial

A couple of people have reported legs problems possibly due to insuffient niacin in the Dumor, so keep that in mind.

Casportpony- Thank you I will keep that in mind! I keep brewyers yeast around to supplement the Ducklings, so i could use that. But then the hassle of doing a bunch of supplements may out way the price difference.

I've done quite a bit of research into feed to try and come up with the best possible feed I can afford. I've thought about just trying to get a breeder feed (either gamebird or waterfowl) but most of them are up there in price. I have been leaning more towards mixing my own with getting a good base Starter/grower and adding farmers helper ultra kibble. Any input would be appreciated

Background on my flock- I mainly raise Dutch Hookbills whom are a critically endangered breed. My ducks are breeders and am trying to give each duck & duckling the best possible chance of thriving.

I've only had ducks for a few years now, but mine seem to do just fine on organic layer (while they're laying), and organic maintenance the rest of the time (both all-flock.) They also get to forage every day, and get fruit, veggies, and bugs in the winter. Occasionally i give them salmon or turkey as a treat, but I've never supplemented it long-term. Again, I've only had ducks for a few years, so I probably could use some reading up myself. That being said, they're all healthy, happy, and adorable, so I call that a win regardless!

Sorry if you get this a lot, but do you sell ducklings? I've been dreaming of getting Hookbills since I first learned about them.
