What do you feed your ducks?

I tossed some carrot shreds in there the other day. You'd think they were live grenades. 🤦‍♀️
Ha! Never mind carrots, I put a live wiggling worm in front of Sprightly, she hissed and ran like it was a freaking snake 😂
Her reaction made Dougie second guess herself and she also ran from it. She realised it was in fact just a worm, and came back to gobble it down.
But poor Sprightly is still shook 😂

When I cut my pumpkin into quarters and left it for them they wouldn’t even walk by it for days
I had to move it the first day as they wouldn’t go past to get in the duck house lol 😂
Eventually a brave duck tried it and then the crew ate it all
Just takes one to try
My one drake won’t eat peas at all
I will cut up a watermelon or honeydew into quarters and they pick it apart for the day
It’s a treat a few times a month
I have also boiled corn on the cob and taken that out
They go crazy for that
But that’s only a few times a year I do that

I change feed and mix/match all the time. Mostly because when my flock is big, it gets really expensive to buy "the good stuff". I have ducks and chickens, so I do a variety of all flock, layer, etc... I fed the purina duck pellets when I had only ducks and I love that feed. I also really like nutrena feeds and that's mostly what i'm feeding right now. It's probably my favorite to feed, but I couldn't always afford to feed it. I recently discovered their rewards program and that's helping for sure.
