What do you grow in your garden?

* As hard as it is to believe anything can grow in central Arizona, besides cotton, I actually get these to grow: Bell Pepper, Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrots (3 kinds), Celery, Cilantro, Green Beans, Lettuce, Onion (2 kinds), Snap Peas, Radishes (4 kinds), Sweet Corn, Tomatoes, and Watermelon. Snap Peas hate the heat so I keep my in mostly shade. I also run a misting system to keep the ground temperature down. It really does help. So if you live somewhere hot, this is the best tip I can give. The next best tip, for hot places, don't use dirt in your garden. Potting soil and Gypsum only. The dirt hardens and suffocates the roots. *

I'm using compost, does that count?
