What do you guys think of this coop?

I don't care for the flat roof, cuz snow would sit on it, but I don't know where you live. Still rain would pool there too I suppose.

$200. I'd take it if I could get it home.

The labor and time to build it are worth $200.

I hope you don't miss a good deal.

I think it's a great start, but I would modify it. I think it is worth buying just for the materials/base of what you want. I would add slanted metal roof, and put the nesting boxes on the outside and lower.

With all due respect, have you build a coop?

If it took 20 hrs. x $7.25 that's half the money right there. Most folks only go it only cost me X amount of dollars, but your time is worth something too. Not to mention picking up the materials, cutting the lumber, measuring and nailing and everything else that goes into building a coop. If he bought plywood that's at least $30-40 or more. Plywood here is not cheap.

So I say if you've got the money and want to save hours of time and effort buy it. I know I would if it were near me and I had the money.

We are having a coop built about that size for $250 but to our specs - and it will have a higher roosting area, and 1 nesting box. You might check around with local contractors and see who can do what. We asked our builder friend to look at a prefab coop for sale $399 and see if he could build it cheaper. He said as long as he doesn't have to paint it

the cost is $250.

My husband built mine and it is the same size. The configuration on the inside is different. Ours has a flat roof too but the whole coop is under a sort of carport so the slant does not matter. For the time and the money that went into ours I would say if you have the money it is a good buy.

Ours is very heavy so it might be difficult to move it.

Good luck!
