What do you spend on food for a week?

Have you tried her on raw goats milk??

No we havent. We thought about it but the doctor said that the proteins in goats milk are very similar to cows milk so we have just stayed away from it. However they told us not to give her sheep milk/cheese but before we went to this dr. we gave her the sheep cheese and she does well with it, in fact its the only cheese she can have that I have found. The veggie shreds all have caseins (milk protein)

Pasturizing milk changes the proteins and kills off the good enzymes.

We only drink fresh raw milk (filtered straight from cow and goat and into the fridge) and my kids don't have any of the allergy or other problems they once had.

I have dairy sheep for the purpose of making sheep cheese!

So, do you think if we had a goat and drank it raw it would be ok possibly?

I cannot make that assessment. I do know some people can drink raw goat milk when they can't drink cow milk.

I was curious if you had tried her on other milks in the past.

No we havent. I would like to get her off the rice milk but not sure what to try first. Store bought or Raw and ofcourse I know where to get the store bought but I dont know anyone who has a goat to try it Raw.

Miss Prissy, I know you have a little boy, but not sure on his age. How old was he when you started him on raw milk? My littlest just turned 2, and we will be milking our Dexter's next year, and was wondering at what age is raw milk safe. Thanks for your help!!

Well, we go to BJs about once every 2 months and buy meat, dry goods, canned goods, pet food, shampoo etc. Usually that trip runs us around $160.00
Some things(milk, cheese) are more expensive there than at the Market Basket that is right down the street from us. So we pick that stuff up there as needed.

Right now I have enough black beans, diced tomatoes, toilet paper, bleach, comet cleanser, shampoo, paper towels, cat food, dog food, hamburger, sausage and some other things to last us well into November.
The meat we bought the beginning of Sept. So the membership has more than paid for itself. Never mind that the BJs members gas station usually runs 4 cents cheaper than in town.

Horse currently is about $31.50 for grain every two weeks.
Shavings around $15 every two weeks.
His feet look good right now so no farrier needed(he is barefoot) but a trim is $40
Wormer every two months- $9-20
Vaccinations I do myself and that is about $40 with shipping once a year.
Chickens I think the last bag of feed I bought was $20. Will be buying more next week. Lasts me around 1 monh
